The Ratster Designs passion and vision is to build custom motorcycles from the heart, for the heart. That said, we do not build "theme bikes" for the mainstream consumer, but custom designs we like to call "Artifact Customs". We only design bikes utilizing actual artifacts that hold a significant part in history. These projects reward our team with gratification and fulfillment, reflecting our love of art and history. We aspire to preserve history through the preservation of ancient artifacts by incorporating them into our custom bike projects. Appreciation and education go hand in hand. We have been told by many people who have seen our machines, that we introduced them to snippets of time or history that normally would have gone by the wayside. Who would have thought that you could find a history lesson in a motorcycle? Well, whatever it takes to open everyones eyes to what we feel are very relevant pieces of history.

For example, the CSS H.L. Hunley was a confederate submarine which was lost for 131 years with 8 men on board. The Hunley was found in 1995 by Clive Cussler and a team from the National Underwater and Marine Agency. The H.L. Hunley was meticulously brought to the surface in 2000. Ratsters' Ed Tooley attended the memorial service of the lost men. The inspiration the Ratster Design team derived from this important, almost forgotten piece of American history was overwhelming. The award winning motorcycle was built commemorating and sharing the H.L. Hunleys' story with the world. Ratster Designs team of talented individuals all contribute to the success of each project we undertake, thus having the same access as other custom builders. We have a great love for the culture and history of different countries and time eras around the world, whether it be land or sea. The uniqueness of our Custom Show Bikes is that we explore history and artifacts, going the extra mile to seek out skilled artisan's, whose expertise will provide Ratster Designs with the quality essential to build the Best Custom Show Bike!
